Lately, my personal life has taken priority over this blog and I took some time off. Part of it was because I felt a little tired by blogging-- this constant need to create content, the socializing, and the fact that I've been doing it for the past five years and the other part was because I was busy.

This isn't goodbye, rather a hello. A lot of things have happened in the time I was gone (as well as slightly before)-- graduation, moving into dorms, socializing, another year (hello, adulthood; I don't know if I'll like you) and so much more. The direction of this blog was questioned and I'm a little excited to see it into a new direction.

This is midterm week for so many people and I'm feeling the time crunch, too. Multiple exams and essays to be written as well as my layouts and articles for some other stuff that I work on to be made. I took up coffee drinking and tea has been pushed to the wayside. I think I'm a little addicted to how quickly caffeine wakes me up.

My life right now largely consists of the items in the photo.

Glasses// I've been using them a lot more and I think my eyesight is worsening because I use them so much. They were an occasional thing before but now they're a necessity. Alas, that's what happens when you're stuck in large lecture halls for three days in a week.

Notebook// The de-facto necessity for students. My MacBook sometimes serves as a replacement but it's a little hard to try to write chemical equations with all the subscripts, superscripts and Greek letters quickly.

MacBook// PC was never so clunky. The simplicity and minimalism of a Mac is just so... many feels. It was a splurge compared to other laptops but the graphics are nicer, which is nice since I use InDesign and Photoshop (as well as other Adobe Creative Suite programs.)

Phone// Like so many other people, my life is mostly on this phone. Feedly? Check. Gmail? Check. Google Calendar? Check.  I rely on this for my alarm, my clock, my daily news-- pretty much everything.

Now where's my Nook? It's been out of battery ever since I moved in. Oops. I'm going to go charge it eventually, when I find the outlet adapter for it. For now, I'm limited (that's so not the right term) to physical books.

Anyway, I'm going to stop talking about books and actually hit the books.

  1. Welcome back! I had noticed your absence, and then as I mentioned in a comment on my blog was glad to see you back again! Totally understandable that you needed a break though. No matter how much you work to make this a hobby, sometimes it does just feel like a chore. Your life doesn't seem too much different from mine right now... Well, except you're more high-tec than me. Haha. I have a PC laptop (lame), a Kindle, a regular notebook, and glasses. So yup yup yup. Oh, and up until now I have avoided ever have a cell phone but have just ordered one this past week because so many people give you crazy looks these days when they find out you don't really have a phone. I'm a little intimidated by the idea of having one, but everyone else has one so I should be alright... right?

  2. PC laptops are great, too! I was a little sad the other day when I found out that a program used for the school's laser machine was PC only.

Have fun with your new phone! :) It's amazing how quickly it becomes a part of your life and how much information is stored in there.

Good to "see" you back! Best of luck with the student life, I know how that goes. I'm glad that, even though you questioned the blog thing for a while, you decided to rejoin us :)

  4. Kelly! :) Thank you! It's good to be back. I feel so rejuvenated.
